Binged ("Binged," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Sprezza LLC, a limited liability company based in Illinois, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Binged mobile application (the "App"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
By using Binged, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
The App is owned and operated by Sprezza LLC. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at legal@sprezza.io.
Binged is a social application for logging, ranking, reviewing, and sharing television shows.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information. Binged uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google to create and access your account. When you sign in, we receive basic account information from these providers, which may include your name and email address. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.
b. Profile information. Information you choose to add to your profile, such as your display name, username (handle), bio, and profile photo. Profile photos you upload are stored using our hosting provider (see Section 4).
c. Content you create. Information you generate while using the App, including: the shows you log, your rankings and scores, reviews and posts, comments, reactions and likes, watchlists and "to rank" lists, the accounts you follow, and any users you block or reports you submit. Reports are submitted to us for moderation.
d. Information collected automatically. When you use the App, our systems may automatically collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the service, such as your IP address, device and app version information, and basic diagnostic or error data. We do not collect precise geolocation.
e. Analytics. As of the effective date, Binged does not use third-party analytics or usage-tracking tools. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and profile;
- Provide the App's core features — logging, ranking, reviews, lists, feeds, and social interactions;
- Generate personalized recommendations based on the shows you rank and the feedback you give (for example, marking a show "not interested");
- Display community and friend-based information such as audience scores, follower activity, and taste-match percentages;
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the App;
- Enforce our terms, moderate reported content, and protect users and the service;
- Communicate with you about your account or the service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
a. Service providers. We use trusted third parties to run Binged:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage (including profile photos), and backend hosting.
- Apple and Google — to provide sign-in.
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — TMDB provides the television show data and imagery displayed in the App. This data flows from TMDB to us; we do not share your personal information with TMDB.
b. Other users (public information). Binged is a social app. By default, your profile and the content you create (rankings, reviews, comments, reactions, and social activity) are public and visible to other users. You can set your profile to private in Settings, which limits who can see your content. Your username and profile are how others find and interact with you.
c. Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with legal process, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Binged, our users, or others.
d. Business transfers. If Sprezza LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change as required by law.
e. Advertising. Binged does not currently show advertising or share your personal information for advertising purposes. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and provide any choices or opt-outs required by applicable law.
5. Public content and your privacy choices
Because Binged is built around sharing your taste in TV, much of what you do is public by default. You control your visibility through:
- Profile visibility — set your account to public or private in Settings.
- Blocking — block other users to hide their content from you and sever follow relationships.
- Deactivation — temporarily hide your account and content; you can reactivate later.
- Deletion — permanently delete your account (see Section 7).
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. We also retain information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal information as described below, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. These rights apply to residents of jurisdictions such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, among others.
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile information in the App.
- Deletion. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Your Account → Delete Account, or by contacting us at legal@sprezza.io. Deleting your account removes your profile and associated content, subject to legal retention requirements.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. You have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Exercising your rights. Contact us at legal@sprezza.io and we will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption of authentication credentials at rest on your device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
Binged is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at legal@sprezza.io and we will delete it.
10. International users
Binged is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of Binged after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
